Discussion on the future of SylC

Berlin, February 26.Dear friends and partners,Support your local Cinema - SylC - has been successfully running for 3 years thanks to the continued support of our funders from the MEDIA programme. During these three years, we have grown a significant network and offered our customised cinema apps to almost 90 independent movie theaters in 5 European countries. Working with you on these technologies has been an exciting and amazing experience, and we hope you enjoy our service and make the most of your app to connect with your audience. Now the funding phase has come to an end and we would like to find the best and fairest ways to carry on taking care of your apps and further develop apps for new cinemas, in new countries! For that purpose, we would like to talk with you, either in Berlin, or on the phone, in order to…Continue

We promote our app also in an offline way. We've added an extra sheet to our menu with both the qr-codes of the apps. It is now really easy for our visitors to download the app. Specially when they are waiting before a screening. Continue

Good News: our apps are now playing trailers ! 2 Replies

Hello ! As some of you might have already found out last Friday, your apps have finally been updated. Based on your queries, your  users' feedback and our product brainstorming during the Berlinale last February, we  finally added following features to your apps:  - Apps in Germany and in the UK now play trailers when those are available.- Users can mark the News as read, and don't have to click on each news to erase the notification sign- Users can "like" your News from the app, as well as the movies showing at your cinema and publish their "likes" on their Facebook walls to tell their friends. Please inform your users and encourage them to update their app! And as always, you can let us know if you have any questions or queries.  All the best from very hot Berlin, have a good start in the week you all!  Continue

Hi Everyone,

it seems that there is a small misunderstanding with the use of the #sylc on Facebook.

Some cinemas have both a profile page (with friends) AND a company page (with fans), i.e. :

ABC Toulouse:

Profile Page  https://www.facebook.com/cinema.abc

Company Page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cin%C3%A9ma-ABC-Toulouse/156826162322

or Filmrausch Palast Mabit in Berlin

Profile page: https://www.facebook.com/filmrauschpalast

Company Page: https://www.facebook.com/filmrausch.moabit

Even if you are currently using the profile page more than the company page to communicate with your audience, the #sylc to publish news in your mobile applications only woks from your company page.

Twitter is not working either (at least not yet)!!!

We highly recommend to switch to a company page, since this allows you to gather insights on your fans, you can have more than 5000 fans and with your business address registered on the page people can check-in your cinema with their apps, and with Facebook places (with or without app).
