Rachael Castell

Rachael is a freelance project manager, producer and consultant, and is currently managing the Support your local Cinema project for moviepilot GmbH.

Until December 2008, Rachael Castell was English National Opera’s Interactive Producer working to develop a long term interactive audience development strategy for the company, involving social networking, blogging and the creation of high quality video content with a view to providing dynamic, engaging, uniquely creative access to ENO productions, company members and teams.

Prior to her appointment at ENO, Rachael worked as the Head of New Media for Adventure Pictures (Sally Potter’s production company), and previous to that spent four years as Producer of the East End Film Festival. She has produced over 100 short films on a range of formats from 35mm to HDv, is a freelance sub-editor and film journalist with print and radio experience, and holds an MA in the History of Film and Visual Media.

Rachael also runs her own production company and consultancy: Rouge and Tripoli Productions. Under the banner of Rouge and Tripoli Rachael has directed video work for Opera Europa, Glyndebourne Opera, English National Opera, Masterclass Haymarket, the UK government’s Music and Dance Scheme, and the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

 

Léa Germain, Project Manager


Léa Germain is working as a project manager for Support your local Cinema.

Léa has been with Moviepilot since 2009, at first as a community manager for the French website, and since February 2010 as assistant coordinator for Support your local Cinema. She currently acts as the central point of contact for all local cinemas and other partners in the project, and will continue to manage the operational aspects of the SylC project on the Moviepilot side full-time going forward. Léa holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language, Literature and Civilisation as well as as Master's degree in politicial science and international relations, having spent her university years in Bordeaux and Hamburg.

 

Wilma Haninger, SylC intern

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wilma is working with Léa at SylC as her intern. 

She lived and studied in England at York College before moving back to her native Germany. Fluent in English and German of course, she supports Léa through translating and writing. Wilma's a fan of Japanese popculture, manga and metal music. She will do just about anything for good sushi and will always prefer a movie-night over a club outing. 

Tobias Bauckhage, Managing Director of moviepilot


After finishing his degree in Economics and Management Science Tobias Bauckhage worked for four years as a strategy consultant for the Boston Consulting Group. He specialized in projects in the telecommunication sector and is well experienced in managing large projects with many different clients from different cultural backgrounds. In 2004 he quit his job and founded the independent film production and distribution company jetfilm together with his best friend Jon Handschin. Three years later the two founded moviepilot, where Tobias is managing director, responsible for business development and financing. Tobias held a scholarship of the German National Academic Foundation.

 

Jon Handschin, Head of Internationalization and Director of Product Management

Jon Handschin holds an international degree in economics and management science. He studied in Berlin and Madrid. After working as a feature film producer for teamworx (a Bertelsman company) for four years in 2004 he founded the independent distribution and production company jetfilm together with his best friend, Tobias Bauckhage. In 2007 the two founded moviepilot. Since then he is responsible for product development and head of internationalization. He is half Spanish and half Swiss and speaks German, English, French and Spanish fluently.

Benjamin Krause, CTO of moviepilot


Benjamin Krause has worked as a web developer, technical project leader and information architecture consultant on international projects for ten years before he joined moviepilot as CTO. He is a well known expert and frequent speaker within the international community of the development network Ruby on Rails. In his spare time from 2004 on he developed the wiki-based free movie database www.omdb.org which is now part of the moviepilot network.

Malte Cherdron, COO of moviepilot


 

Malte joined Moviepilot as COO in 2010 from Germany's then-leading online social network VZnet. From 2001 to 2007 he worked as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company, serving mainly telecommunications and media clients. His consulting projects at McKinsey included strategy development as well as large-scale implementation and project management for major European clients. Malte holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Mannheim.
