There's nothing better than a sixteen hour bus journey* to reflect on a whirlwind few days at an international film festival. Particularly when a major focus of your time there had been spent moving forward on say... a free iPhone app for independent cinemas that's been in the pipeline for a few months now. Oh, and showcasing, brainstorming and discussing a cinema industry website that's becoming ever more active. Uh, and partying with your colleagues from moviepilot at hot Berlinale events. Phew!
THANKS GUYS
This is just a quick post (before I nip out the door to watch True Grit) to thank all those of you who stopped in at our informal coffee afternoon and shared your thoughts, questions, suggestions, concerns, wishes and so on for the SylC project. Your input is already being worked into our plans for the iPhone app mark 2, and we're working on moulding this site to reflect your wise counsel. Do let us know if you have any thoughts for people you'd really like to hear from on the specific subject of independent European cinema exhibition. We're currently sourcing featured bloggers for the coming months.
FRANCE - CAN YOU HELP?
In other news...French partners! - can you help SylC Member Ian Kerry - he's looking for contacts in France for a tour of the Tony Hawkes film Round Ireland with a Fridge.
FILMS AND MUSIC - TOP SUGGESTIONS?
Again, noting the wisdom and expertise of our members, one of our Belgian partners Jolle from Arthouse Cinema BUDA in Kortrijk wanted to source your thoughts on his upcoming film and music festival. Any suggestions for bands or films that would fit the bill, would be gratefully appreciated.
1 MILLION FRIENDS?! WHO SAID IT WASN'T COOL TO BE FRIENDS WITH YOUR PARENTS ON FACEBOOK?...
And finally, at SylC we can't stop marveling at the popularity of our parent company moviepilot! Have you seen - they've got over 1 million friends!!
-------
*(yes 'sixteen hours', yes 'bus' - you can be technologically focused and environmentally friendly!)
